Where’s Senate District 43?
Because many Minnesotans are politically active, it’s easy to assume that everyone understands how Minnesota’s state government is organized, including the district in which they live. In case you don’t, this page is for you!
The people of Minnesota are represented in our state government by two groups of elected officials: senators, who represent a region of the state called a senate district; and house representatives, who represent part of a senate district.
Our state is divided into 67 senate districts based on population. Senate districts are also commonly known as basic political organizing units (BPOU). Each senate district is divided into two house districts, A and B.
Norann is campaigning to become the next senator of senate district 43, which includes parts of Plymouth and Minnetonka, and the city of Medicine Lake.
